Housing subsidies

Loca-pass
To rent an apartment, landlords will ask you for a security deposit equivalent to 1 month's rent and will require someone to act as a guarantor for you. LOCA-PASS lends you the money you need for these expenses.
There are two components to this aid: an advance and a security deposit:
- The LOCA-PASS advance is an advance on the security deposit requested by the landlord (capped at 500€), granted in the form of a 0% interest rate loan, repayable over a maximum of 3 years in monthly instalments of at least 20€. This repayment takes place after a 3-month deferment or from the first payment of your grant (if you are a grant holder).
- The LOCA-PASS guarantee is a 3-year joint and several guarantees given to the landlord covering a maximum of 9 monthly instalments up to a limit of 2000€ per month after deduction of housing subsidies. Visual Device (formerly Key - Lokaviz Student Rental Deposit )
The student rental guarantee aid set up by the Crous - Lokaviz is changing to the Visale d'action logement scheme. This aid remains the same, it is a '' guarantor '' who acts as a guarantee in case of non-payment of the rents including charges.
